Rig 10 (Edson 3000) Crew recently completed a Cooljarloo Geotechnical Investigation & Monitoring Bore Installation for a resource project. The mineral sands operation scope of works called for 7 x PQ3 cored boreholes
The crew drilled PQ3 cored boreholes to the scoped 30m depths. Above all, core recovery and presentation exceeding client expectations.
The drill locations were in very soft sandy ground conditions. So consequently, J&S Drilling utilised a tracked drilling rig with tracked support equipment. Therefore, as a result the low ground contact pressures allow the equipment to gain access without the need to undertake expensive civil works minimizing project costs. That is to say, a minimal environmental footprint was sustainable.
Core recovery and presentation exceeded client expectations.
In conclusion, the Cooljarloo Geotechnical Investigation KPI’s were delivered with no Safety related incident recorded, all boreholes drilled to the required depths. 100% mechanical availability contributed to a successful project delivery and the client is happy!
