A challenging project? not for J&S Drilling. Firstly we dismantled one of our smaller rigs for the Salt Lake Helicopter Drilling.

Preparation

The maximum lift weight allowed for the project is 1000kg, including rigging, due to the size of the helicopter support. That is to say, we had the ability and equipment, so we dismantled a Jacro 200 into components, tested and weighed to ensure compliance and safety. Subsequently helicopter operations commenced.

R2 frame being weighed

Salt Lake Drilling Method

Hollow Auger Core Drilling methodology, depths scoped as nominally 12 meters.

Monitoring Bore Construction

Selected boreholes constructed into monitoring bores using 50mm PVC casing. In conclusion, Brine sampling undertaken to establish the resource potential.

Salt Lake Helicopter Drilling Outcome

Most importantly, KPI’s for the project achieved with no safety related incident recorded and drilling undertaken to the satisfaction of the supervising consultant.

Therefore a job very well done in a remote and very isolated project location.

Location

Salt Lake, Central Western Australia
