J&S Drilling recognises the need to protect the environment in order to allow sustained economic development for the long-term benefit of the community. The company is committed to ensuring that environmental responsibility is incorporated as part of their normal business practice.

In support of this policy, management will focus on continuous improvement of Environmental objectives, including prevention of pollution, recycling and Sustainability Strategies. Through the identification, reporting and elimination of Environmental hazards and the promotion of environmental sustainability among employees, contractors, other interested parties and clients.

J&S Drilling will abide by all statutory Acts and Regulations, including Codes of Practice, Compliance Codes and Australian Standards, as a minimum standard and will strive to maintain a level of safety that continues to improve on the legal requirements. It is the duty of all managers and employees to exercise care in their work to ensure this commitment is achieved. Therefore, all employees and contractors must make themselves aware of the requirements listed below;

• Management review of Environmental Objectives annually as a minimum
• Client requests, with regard to the treatment of sites and leases, must be taken into account prior to the commencement of operations,
• Whilst on site, vehicles and equipment are only to be driven on designated roads, unless alternate arrangements have been authorised by the client,
• Areas of undisturbed bush and environmentally sensitive areas are only to be accessed with the consent of the senior client representative, • All waste goods, food, tyres and broken equipment are to be disposed of properly, at a designated waste facility.
• The use of chemicals, saltwater and any other fluids or effluent must be controlled in the correct manner. This particularly applies to the containment and clean-up of any fuels, oils, greases or chemical substances that may contaminate any area of ground or waterways,
• On completion of each drilling program, the disturbed area is to be left clean and tidy, as close as possible to its original condition. • Environmental Sustainability will be communicated to the workforce, other interested parties and clients via formal paper based and electronic media platforms, training, inductions, meetings and access to procedures.
