In accordance with our Safety and Health Policy, J & S Drilling is committed to preventing illness and injuries in the workplace by providing, as far as is practicable, a work environment that is safe and healthy for all our employees. However, in the event that an injury or illness does occur, J & S Drilling will assist and work with the injured worker and the treating medical practitioner to take a team approach to injury management and help implement effective occupational rehabilitation procedures.

Occupational rehabilitation is the process by which injured employees are restored as quickly as possible to their fullest capacity within their workplace, family and community. This is achieved through the combined use of medical, social, educational and vocational measures.

Specifically this policy provides that;

• Rehabilitation will commence as soon as possible after an injury occurs, subject to medical advice,

• Injured employees will be assisted to remain at work or return to work as soon as possible after the injury occurs,

• If injured employees are to return to the workplace, light duties may need to be developed that are aligned with current medical advice,

• Support will be given to the injured employee and their family throughout the rehabilitation process, and

• Open communication between the injured employee, their treating doctors, supervisors and the rehabilitation coordinator will be maintained at all stages during the rehabilitation process.
