J&S Drilling provides motor vehicles for use by designated employees as part of their working environment. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that individuals who drive company vehicles are safe at all times.

Employer Responsibilities

It is the Employer’s responsibility to ensure that:

• Vehicles provided are appropriate to the task and have a current registration, insurance and maintenance schedule.

• Servicing of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s and J&S Drilling requirements as well as safety checks;

• Verify employees Drivers Licence by taking a copy and recording;

• Vehicles damaged or requiring repair will be assessed to determine the appropriate action, including replacement.

• Vehicles are provided with an emergency first aid kit, fire extinguishers and relevant safety equipment.

• Drivers have access to fuel card as applicable to vehicle project tasking.

• Provide work instructions (SWP’s) for vehicle maintenance, repair, inspection and processes that drivers are responsible for.

Employees Responsibility

It is the Employee responsibility to ensure their own safety and that of others. Employees who drive J&S Drilling vehicles are required to:

• Be authorised to drive company vehicles and must hold a current driver’s license for the class of vehicle being operated. Providing a copy to J&S Drilling when renewed, updated or changed.

• Daily Pre-starts are to be completed on field vehicles – weekly pre-starts on Fridays.

• Not operate a company vehicle when under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, or while impaired by prescribed medication, illness or injury. • Company vehicles are to be driven by authorised employees only

• Check the vehicle for damage and report any apparent defects.

• Drivers must ensure that road rules and speed limits are adhered to at all times. This includes the wearing of seat belts (driver and all passengers). • Not use mobile phones or devices that may cause distractions.

• Any fines or infringements incurred whilst driving a company vehicle will be paid for by the employee responsible;

• Fill the vehicles with fuel to ensure an adequate amount of fuel is in the car at all times. Not overfilling tank: noting Diesel expands in heat.

• Drivers are fully responsible for the vehicle while it is in their charge. This includes the loading, securing and understanding weight capacity of vehicle and trailers. Note: J&S has provided a Plant weights and load capacity and a Load Restraint Chart accessible in hardcopy and electronic to drivers.

• Be aware of the inflation level of tyres, temperature gauge, and any warning lights that could indicate an area of concern with the vehicle. Re-inflating tyres, at first opportunity, on completion of off road operations.

• Ensure the exterior/interior of the vehicle is kept clean at all times.

• Comply with J&S Drilling (ESHMS) and client site safety management systems that relate to operating vehicles.

• Employees whose drivers licences have been suspended or revoked must immediately notify J&S Drilling Managing Director and must cease drive company vehicles. Failure to do this will result in disciplinary action and potential dismissal.

• All accidents involving company vehicles are to be reported as per J&S Drilling ESHMS incident reporting requirements.

• Drivers are responsible for the security of company vehicles assigned to them. The vehicle engine must be shut off, ignition keys removed, and vehicle doors locked whenever the vehicle is left unattended.

• Smoking is prohibited in company vehicles

• Checking tyres and load stability frequently when transiting long distance (metro to regional and vice versa).

• Every courtesy must be shown to other road users and pedestrians
